Obesity and pregnancy: risk and management


Being obese during pregnancy has major impact on our health during gestation period and labour. Gestational hypertension is a condition where high blood pressure that begins in the second half of pregnancy. It has the potential to cause serious consequences. Preeclampsia is a dangerous form of gestational hypertension that usually develops in the second half of pregnancy or shortly after delivery. The woman's kidneys and liver may fail as a result of this illness.
